On Saturday, 21 May 2022 we hosted our Salmon Release Festival to provide an opportunity for the public to participate in, and assist us with the process of releasing some of our over 22,000 Coho Salmon into Chapman Creek, and eventually, into the local ecosystem. Successful Breeding and Release of Pink Salmon

On Sunday, 6 March, in bright sunshine, a large group of visitors and volunteers helped our Hatchery Manager Bill with the release of the first cohort of Pink salmon raised right here in the Chapman Creek Hatchery this fall and winter. Latest News on the Fish – Graduating to larger tanks and upcoming Volunteer opportunities

Here are some updates on the development of our fish. Juveniles: We have one tub going in the rearing area with 22,600+, 12 gram Coho salmon slated to be released this May. These fish are fed only 3 days a week (Tues, Thurs and Sat) due to the creek water being very cold, 0.77C this morning.
