August’s Sechelt fishing report shows increasing action around Chapman Creek and pooling outside creek entrances along the Coast.
Pink Salmon are now arriving in Chapman Creek and are spawning in the pool in front of the hatchery. Good numbers of pinks are being caught from the beach at Bonniebrook.
Fly-fishing is productive, as is spin-casting with hot pink rooster tails, and drift-fishing with bobber and lure/bait in the pools close to the hatchery.
One angler reported landing a nice-sized coho out between Davis Bay and the Trail Islands.

There are great suggestions for lures, flies, and techniques for all of the local areas. You can pick up gear at Fishing Report sponsor Source for Sports in Sechelt. As of yesterday the pink rooster tails were almost sold out, with only a few small versions for light spin casting in low-wind conditions.
See you on and near the water!
