River Day
Dinner/Auction  Release Day  -  Catch a Trout Day  -  Rivers Day
In the middle of October we hold Rivers Day, a celebration of the importance of rivers to British Columbia -historically, culturally, and economically.

Several organizations involved in water conservation, management or use help out by setting up booths and talking about different aspects of our water resources.  Society activities include a presentation on the Chapman Creek watershed using a three dimensional model, creek walks, and hatchery tours.

One of the highlights of the day is viewing the chum salmon spawning just in front of our viewing platform.
Another highlight of the day are the delicious coho salmon burgers we sell.

 Admission is free.

The Society would like to thank all the volunteers who made this event possible including the girls from Starbucks in Sechelt and the young folks from Canada World Youth.   The hard work and devotion of all the volunteers made this years's festival another success.
